Edmonton Screen is seeking proposals from qualified research partners to conduct the 2025 Northern Alberta Screen Sector Benchmarking Survey, an annual study that tracks the economic health, workforce, and evolving composition of the region’s screen industries.
Edmonton Screen is inviting proposals from qualified vendors to conduct the 2025 Northern Alberta Screen Sector Benchmarking Survey. This annual study provides critical, data-driven insights into the economic health, workforce, and evolving composition of the region’s screen industries, including film, television, and digital media and technology.
The benchmarking survey plays a key role in supporting Edmonton Screen’s advocacy, strategic planning, and reporting to municipal, provincial, and federal partners. It also ensures consistent, longitudinal data to track year-over-year trends across the sector.
Scope of Work
The successful proponent will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the benchmarking survey, including survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Proposals may address one of two engagement levels:
- Tier 1: Baseline Tracking Quantitative data collection and analysis of 2025 industry activity, including production volume, workforce metrics, and economic impact.
- Tier 2: Enhanced Engagement Includes all Tier 1 requirements, plus qualitative interviews with industry leaders to provide deeper context on trends, challenges, and opportunities.
The final report must be completed by April 24, 2026.

- Budget: Tier 1 proposals must not exceed $23,000 CAD (inclusive of GST). Tier 2 costs should be provided as an additional estimate.
