Elevation Program Recipient: Dylan Pearce
Edmonton producer Dylan Pearce is developing Legend of Conquest, a 3D esports feature supported by Edmonton Screen’s Elevation Program and backed by Telefilm Canada. Currently in development, the project marks a significant step for Alberta-led film production.
Edmonton Screen is proud to announce Dylan Pearce as a recipient of our Elevation Program.
An Edmonton-based filmmaker and producer, Pearce is currently developing Legend of Conquest, a coming-of-age 3D feature film set in the world of esports.
This project marks a significant milestone for the region. Legend of Conquest is one of the first fully Alberta-led projects to receive national-level Telefilm Canada funding.
About the film:
Legend of Conquest follows a group of kids, parents, and a once-great gaming champion thrown together at a massive esports tournament. As the pressure builds and the spotlight intensifies, the unlikely team is forced to confront clashing egos, old wounds, and the challenge of working side by side.
To survive the tournament and each other they’ll have to discover what really makes a team, both in the game and in real life.
The film blends live action with sequences that take place inside the game itself, incorporating MythForce, a game developed by Edmonton-based studio Beamdog.
“It’s a fun, energetic film on the surface, but at its core it’s about loss, growing up, and parents and kids figuring out how to really see each other,” says Pearce.
The project is currently in early prep, with plans to begin production in Edmonton in 2026.
About Dylan:
Dylan Pearce is a Canadian Screen Award-nominated, Lumière Award-winning director and producer, and co-founder of Northern Gateway Films.

His work includes 40 Below and Falling 3D, which earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination and a Lumière Award, as well as Lasting Impressions 3D, an IMAX stereoscopic art experience presented across the world.
Pearce currently serves as Board Chair of AMPIA.
Elevation Program support:
Pearce first applied to the Elevation Program and was not selected. After revisiting the project, he reapplied and was successfully supported.
That early support became part of the project’s development path.
“The Elevation Program was one of the foundations we brought to Telefilm. It showed there was real belief in the project from this industry.”
Applications are now open. Learn more about the Elevation Program here and apply by March 30, 2026.
