Edmonton Screen Returns to Gamescom 2026 as Canada’s Only Indie Hall Delegation

Edmonton Screen returns to gamescom 2026 as the only Canadian trade delegation with a dedicated booth in the indie hall, bringing its Summit Push studios to the largest video game convention in the world.

Five Edmonton indie studios are heading to gamescom 2026 as part of Canada’s only Indie Hall trade delegation, bringing original video games to one of the world’s largest events through Edmonton Screen’s Summit Push Program.

Taking place August 26 to 30 in Cologne, Germany, gamescom brings together hundreds of thousands of attendees and thousands of exhibitors from across the global video game industry. Edmonton Screen's Indie Hall booth gives the studios a shared presence to showcase their games, connect with publishers and investors, and meet players and press from around the world.

Edmonton Showcases Leading to International Opportunities

These studios previously showcased at the inaugural North American Games Industry Summit (NAGIS) and Game Con Canada in Edmonton last June 2026, events that helped build connections, experience, and readiness for a much bigger stage.

Gamescom represents the next step in their journey. In the months leading up to the event, the studios have been refining their demos, preparing pitches, and strengthening relationships with the publishers, investors, and industry partners they'll meet, or meet again, in Cologne.

Explore how Edmonton’s video game industry is building momentum beyond major events like NAGIS and Game Con Canada.

A Shared Presence for Edmonton Studios

Edmonton Screen’s delegation represents Canada’s only coordinated trade presence with a dedicated booth at gamescom’s Indie Hall this year. While other Canadian studios will also exhibit at gamescom independently, Edmonton Screen is bringing five studios together under one shared presence designed to increase visibility and create more opportunities for meaningful industry connections.

Edmonton Screen will also have a presence in the Canada Pavilion’s B2B area alongside the Indie Hall booth. That gives publishers, investors, and industry partners a place to meet with studios, then walk over and experience their games firsthand on the show floor.

For the indie studios, a shared presence provides greater visibility, shared resources, and support navigating one of the busiest events in the video game industry. It allows teams to focus on showcasing their work, building relationships, and connecting with the people who can help bring their games to new audiences.

Connecting Edmonton's video game industry to the world

The Summit Push Program is part of Edmonton Screen's ongoing work to support the growth of Edmonton's interactive digital media and technology sector by helping local studios access new markets, industry connections, and opportunities to build sustainable businesses.

Through gamescom 2026, these five studios will showcase the creativity, talent, and range of original video games being developed across Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
