About
Clare Mullen is an Alberta-born, award-winning writer and director with over 30 years of experience in film and theatre. She has been an active member of the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA) since 1991, serving several board terms, most recently as Communications Chair. Clare also serves on the board of the Broad View International Film Festival. Most recently, Clare is a graduate of the Women in the Director's Chair program. Clare has held a wide range of industry roles over the years, including Best Boy Electric (Bordertown Café), Stand-In (Edie Falco, Fargo pilot), cinematographer, boom operator, and actor. From 1993 to 1997, she taught filmmaking to teens through the National Screen Institute (NSI).

Women in the Director's Chair (Story & Leadership)
Presented in 4 PARTS over 5 months, WIDC Story & Leadership is a one-of-a-kind professional and project development program that has been seriously road-tested over the last three decades. It focuses on the development of live-action screen fiction (feature film, web and TV series) and offers pathways to effective authentic leadership. Up to eight mid-career Canadian women screen directors who are planning to direct their projects will be selected by a peer jury to attend this intensive revised session of the WIDC program.

Short Synopsis: The Edmonton Storyteller: The Life and Times of Tony Cashman is an uplifting documentary that follows the remarkable 100-year journey of Tony Cashman, an Edmonton historian, writer, and eternal optimist. From his childhood filled with storytelling to surviving the trials of World War II, and later becoming a celebrated author, Tony's life is a testament to the promise and hope that thrives in the city of Edmonton.
